Thank you to all the residents who voted. Oakley residents had an opportunity to weigh in regarding Measure K, which required two thirds of votes cast be in support for its passage. The votes fell short, at 53.5% yes and 46.5% no. We thank the committee of residents who demonstrated a tremendous love and vision for Oakley, having invested over a year and a half in developing a proposal and a thoughtful campaign. While the existing community library is still inadequate, the city and county library system will continue to make the most of our current situation and work around constraints until it’s due time.
