Oakley’s residents enjoy this progressive community that is rich in history, supports strong family values, and offers a high quality of life. Our residents take pride in being a part of a City that is building a prosperous future for generations to come.

Economic Development Snapshot

The City of Oakley is poised to be a strong business and community center of the East County due to the following:

  • Oakley features an abundance of available land in different zones at prices unmatched in the surrounding areas.
  • The community is poised for a workforce explosion with its ability to draw from our own workforce and the surrounding densely populated areas. Our reverse commute from many of the major science, green and technology centers plus our affordable housing makes Oakley a place to consider.
  • The City recently completed the construction of the Civic Center Plaza, home to City Hall, the Oakley Police Department, Black Bear Diner, and Community Park.  The Plaza will serve as the anchor for the City’s ambitious plans to revitalize and beautify the historic downtown section of Main Street.
  • Oakley is business friendly. Our polite, professional staff works diligently to provide excellent service, expedited processes and any available incentives.
