Science Week: March 30th through April 5th, 2024
Throughout the week there are various science topics explored through hands on activities for you and your family. This program is traditionally held every spring. For more information contact Alicia at oleary@ci.oakley.ca.us
Movies in the Plaza:
Enjoy a fun evening at the movies with the Recreation Division hosts the Annual Movies in the Plaza Series, with one movie a month from May to October. Movies will be announced by April, visit the community calendar to see our full monthly calendar including Movies in the Plaza.

Oakley Summer Fest: Saturday June 29th
Oakley Summer Fest will replace the Cityhood Celebration. It will be held downtown on Main Street between Vintage Parkway and Norcross Lane. This event will feature 50+ vendors, live music, a giant kids area.
Fishing Derby: Saturday, August 10th
Heart of Oakley Festival: Saturday, September 21st
Heart of Oakley Festival is an annual open air market that brings local makers, families, and community members together. Join us as we highlight local businesses and community members during this exciting event!
Oaktober Festival: Saturday, October 26th
Enjoy the Oaktober Festival in Civic Center Plaza! Our fall festival to include beer and wine, a family-friendly costume parade, our iconic canine parade, a pumpkin decorating contest, and more! Stop by Civic Center Plaza to celebrate the fall season with over 30+ vendors, food trucks, and more Oaktober Harvest Festival entertainment.
Christmas Tree Lighting: Thursday, December 5th
Join us as we kick off the holiday season with this family-friendly event. Admission and parking are FREE! Civic Center Plaza will be adorned with lights and Christmas decorations. There will be free cookies and cocoa, arts & crafts for the children, live entertainment and more. Santa Claus will also be making a special visit! Entertainment for the night will include performances by local organizations.
Breakfast with Santa: Saturday, December 14th
Hometown Decorating Contests
Compete with your neighbors to have the best decorated house. Homes are voted on by the public and one winner is selected. Contests are held for Halloween and Christmas.
