  • Municipal Code

The City of Oakley's Municipal Code is now online!

The City of Oakley is proud to announce that the Municpal Code is now
on-line, accessible by clicking on the Municipal Code link located on the lower right side of our home page.

The Oakley Municipal Code is an organized compilation of the City’s ordinances. Note that some of the City’s ordinances – those relating to rezoning, for example – are not included in the Municipal Code; however, the Municipal Code is the most comprehensive document available of the City’s ordinances. Please refer to the Table of Contents to assist you in locating specific information. The Oakley Municipal Code has a three-tiered numbering system (title, chapter and article). For example, Section 1.6.206 (Graffiti Prohibited) is found in Title 1 (GENERAL PROVISIONS), Chapter 6 (ABATEMENT OF NUISANCE), Article 2 (GRAFFITI). Within the Municipal Code, you will also find underlined, two-tiered cross reference links; for example, the link (Chapter 1.5) in Section 4.3.104 refers to Title 1, Chapter 5.

Titles are broad categories under which ordinances on a related subject are compiled. Chapters deal with more specific subjects within a given title; articles, within a given chapter.

The Oakley Municipal Code is maintained by the office of the City Clerk. The direct on-line access should have the latest up-to-date version of the Municipal Code. If you have any questions or before relying on any code section, users should contact the City Clerk’s office to determine if the subject section has been amended.
