Closures on Highway 4
Tuesday, September 4, 2012
Drivers on Highway 4 between Pittsburg and Antioch can expect road closures next week as Caltrans opens recently constructed road bridges at Somersville and Loveridge roads to traffic.
Starting Tuesday night, traffic from northbound Loveridge Road onto eastbound Highway 4 will be routed onto a newly completed on-ramp, according to Caltrans. Work crews will also be working in the area to change the striping, resulting in lane closures eastbound.
According to Caltrans' schedule, westbound traffic is scheduled to be shifted onto a new road bridge at Somersville on Thursday. The changeover will require periodic closures to all westbound lanes and several ramps in the vicinity.
Updated road closure information is available at http://widensr4.org
