Announcing the Military Hero Essay Contest. We all know men & women who have served in the military. They are people we admire, look up to and respect for the sacrifices they have made and for the courage they demonstrate on & off the battle fields. The City of Oakley invites you to tell us about your military hero. The essay is open to k-12 students that reside in Oakley. For additional details and the entry form click here.
Mark your calendars and save the date of Sunday, November 11th for Oakley's First Veteran’s Day Event The ceremony is intended to honor and thank all who served in the United States Armed Forces. The event will take place at the Civic Center Plaza located at 3231 Main Street commencing at 11:00am. We’ve already confirmed Chuck Kohler, a Pearl Harbor Survivor, as our Keynote Speaker. City of Oakley Seeks Applications for Contra Costa County Library Commission

The term of the current appointee to the Contra Costa County Library Commission will expire June 30, 2013. The City of Oakley is accepting applications for an appointee until Monday, June 17, 2013 at 5 p.m. Applications will be considered by the Oakley City Council on June 25, 2013 at its regularly scheduled meeting at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall located at 3231 Main Street, Oakley, California in which applicants are encouraged to attend.
