Disabled California Veterans Network in Vallejo
Opportunity, free education and business training with an experienced network of executives are being offered to disabled veterans in Vallejo and surrounding communities.
The statewide non-profit Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise Alliance (www.cadvbe.org <http://www.cadvbe.org> ) assists California veterans interested in creating a business and participating in contract opportunity for State, Federal and private industry contracts. State agencies seek certified dvbe-owned companies to supply goods and services with a mandated goal of purchasing at least 3% from veterans. This amounts to hundreds of millions of dollars in State agency contracting alone with other Federal, utility, special district, schools and private company contracts also available to dvbe-owned companies.
With eight statewide chapters, the DVBE Alliance has more than 1200 disabled veteran businesses ready, willing and able to work as contractors featured on its website, www.cadvbe.org <http://www.cadvbe.org> . Any prime can easily locate a certified dvbe firm by keyword search.
The first Vallejo Chapter meeting has been widely anticipated and will take place at the California Maritime Academy on Wednesday, January 12, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Ward Room. Call DVBE Alliance Executive Director, Rich Dryden at 916-446-3510 for more information.
The new chapter is urging anyone with Armed Forces service to come join with Alliance Executives and other veterans to learn more about the opportunity available, especially in the current economy, at this initial meeting. The Vallejo Chapter will then meet regularly to assist veterans with speakers, business training and mentoring the second Wednesday of each month in the Academy Ward Room, 200 Maritime Academy Drive, Vallejo, CA 94590.
