2023-2031 Housing Element Update

This is an update on the progress of the City of Oakley 2023-2031 Housing Element (Housing Element). The City received a Findings letter from the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) on November 29, 2022. Since that time, the City has revised the Housing Element and posted it online with tracked changes, had additional meetings with HCD, and created an errata of changes to the revised Housing Element based on those meetings with HCD. On March 7, 2023, the Oakley Planning Commission received the Housing Element and adopted a resolution recommending the City Council approve a General Plan Amendment adopting the Housing Element based on changes in the errata and any minor changes received from HCD from that point forward, which have been included in a revised errata. The City Council will consider adoption of the Housing Element during the regular March 28, 2023 City Council meeting. The City is expecting to receive a letter of conditional approval from HCD by the end of March 2023. With adoption of the Housing Element consistent with the letter of conditional approval, the City of Oakley 2023-2031 Housing Element will be certified by HCD. Please visit the links below for individual files, or visit the link further below to access the Housing Element Webpage.
