The Oakley City Council is creating a Citizen Planning Advisors program to encourage citizen participation and receive input in the subdivision and Design Review process. The City Council will appoint three to five Citizen Planning Advisors to serve two-year terms.
Applications will be accepted until Thursday, August 16, 2018 at 6 p.m. Appointment of the Advisors is expected to take place in June. Emphasis in the appointment selection will be given to applicants with knowledge and interest in urban and community planning. While not required, knowledge and experience in the disciplines of architecture, urban design, landscape architecture, environmental studies, traffic engineering and related fields would be helpful.
Advisors will be required to file Conflict of Interest disclosure forms and comply with all the Conflict of Interest regulations about not participating in matters in which they have a financial interest. Advisors receive no compensation for their participation.
City staff will conduct at least one training session for Advisors, as well as at least an annual training meeting to discuss operation of the program.
