City of Oakley Seeks Applicants to Fill Seat on the Contra Costa County Advisory Council on Aging

The City of Oakley is accepting applications to fill a seat on the Contra Costa County Advisory Council for the next two-year term, October 12, 2017 through October 11, 2019. The application deadline is Friday, September 8, 2017 at 5 p.m. Applications will be considered by the Oakley City Council on September 26, 2017 at its regularly scheduled meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m. at City Hall located at 3231 Main Street, Oakley, California. Applicants are encouraged to attend to be interviewed.

The Advisory Council on Aging is appointed by the Board of Supervisors to advise them on all matters associated with the planning, development and administration of programs relating to older adults in accordance with the Older Americans Act. The Advisory Council on Aging meets the third Wednesday of each month, 9:30a.m.-11:30a.m. in Pleasant Hill, California. Take Our Engage in Oakley Survey on the Planning Commission

The City Council is currently considering whether to re-establish the Planning Commission as a separate body or keeping the responsibilities of the Planning Commission as they are currently set up, which includes a small group of residents who serve as Planning Advisors.

We have developed a survey that will measure residents’ satisfaction with the current set up and also gauge the level of interest that our residents may have in serving on a Planning Commission and/or as Citizen Planning Advisors.
