Construction Update- July 27, 2017

The construction project to renovate Main Street in Downtown Oakley is proceeding on schedule and the new improvements are taking shape.  The project’s new decorative sidewalks, curb and gutter in the section from Norcross Lane to 2nd Street are nearly complete and the work on the section from 2nd Street to 5th Street is currently underway. The construction of the new decorative brick bands, which will be in the new sidewalks and around the tree wells, has also started.

Over the coming weeks, new trees and median landscaping will be installed, along with new decorative street lights, and the installation of the new traffic signal at Main/Norcross. The final paving of the project is planned for later in August. The completion of the Downtown Oakley Renovation Project will bring much needed enhancements to this area and promote the economic vitality of Oakley.

Take Our Engage in Oakley Survey on the Planning Commission

The City Council is currently considering whether to re-establish the Planning Commission as a separate body or keeping the responsibilities of the Planning Commission as they are currently set up, which includes a small group of residents who serve as Planning Advisors.

We have developed a survey that will measure residents’ satisfaction with the current set up and also gauge the level of interest that our residents may have in serving on a Planning Commission and/or as Citizen Planning Advisors.

We want your input! Visit our Engage in Oakley platform at https://www.ci.oakley.ca.us/engage-in-oakley/ and complete a brief survey before March 8th.  Stay in touch with our social media for updates.
