The popular “Oakley Science Week” will take place over the course of 8 consecutive days from April 7 – 14. This program provides hands-on activities and exploration in a variety of science fields. There is no fee and no registration is required. The workshops are geared toward ages 6 – 11 but all ages are welcome.
Youth up to age 17 can pick up a “Passport to Science” to collect stamps at each workshop they attend. The “passports” will be available at City Hall and at each workshop throughout the week. Those with a minimum of 5 stamps will receive a special prize at the conclusion of Science Week. One passport per child and children must be present to receive a stamp.
On Saturday, April 7th the Friends of Marsh Creek Watershed kick off Science Week with a workshop at Creekside Park, 3900 Creekside Way in Oakley. There will be with lots of activities for children and their families to learn about our local waterways, watersheds and the importance of keeping our waterways clean. They will give tours of Marsh Creek throughout the day.
