The City of Oakley is seeking applications from Oakley residents who would like to serve as the City’s representative on the East Contra Costa Fire Protection District (ECCFPD) Board. Two seats on the Board are available. The terms will commence when the Oakley City Council appoints the Board members and will expire in November 2018 when the Board moves from appointed members to an elected Board. Appointees serve at the will and pleasure of the City Council.

Completed applications must be submitted prior to 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. All applications are public record. It is anticipated that appointments will be considered by the Oakley City Council on Tuesday, May 23, 2017 during the City Council meeting scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. at 3231 Main Street, Oakley, California. All applicants are encouraged to attend the May 23rd meeting to be interviewed.
The ECCFPD was established in 2002 with the consolidation of the Bethel Island, East Diablo and Oakley-Knightsen Fire Protection Districts. The ECCFPD serves the cities of Oakley and Brentwood, as well as the unincorporated areas of East County, including Bethel Island, Byron, Discovery Bay and Knightsen.
The ECCFPD Board currently meets regularly the first Monday of every month in Brentwood City Hall located at 150 City Park Way, Brentwood, CA 94513 beginning at 6:30 p.m.. Additional special meetings may be called by the Board at its discretion. Board members are required to provide the Oakley City Council quarterly updates. There is no compensation provided for Board members.
