The City Council approved the application for the Contra Costa Logistics Center (CCLC) on December 17, 2019. This project is being developed by NorthPoint Development and is being constructed by CLAYCO. The CCLC project, at completion, will consist of 5 buildings totaling approximately 2.0 million square feet of Class A light industrial, warehousing, distribution, e-commerce fulfillment, and light manufacturing space. The CCLC at build out will employ in excess of 1,800 jobs on-site with ancillary benefits not only to Oakley but the surrounding region.
Once the project received its initial City approval, they went to work and submitted their required permits to begin construction, which commenced in the beginning of 2020. Since the construction started, it has progressed very quickly and in a matter of a few months the project is already taking shape. Each building will be a constructed using tilt-up concrete panels. The foundation and building walls for Building #1 are all up, and the office space and roofing will be next. This building, when finished, will total approximately 150,000 square feet. They have also started construction on Building #2, which is approximately 450,000 square feet.
