Dean has been a member of the Oakley Building Department staff since April of 2010 and has been a resident of East County for the last 41 years. Dean was a licensed contractor and business owner for 30 years, and a Building Inspector with the City of Antioch for 7 years, before he came to the City of Oakley as the Permit Center Manager. Dean has been tested and certified by the California Division of State Architect as a Certified Access Specialist (CASp) and he also holds certifications in Building, Electrical, Mechanical and Plumbing Inspection. Dean attended UC Davis where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in 1971. Dean has many “do it yourself” projects, he enjoys being with his family, and he is a big supporter of his grandchildren at their baseball, soccer and basketball games.
