Residential Rental Inspection Program

The Oakley City Council recently approved an amendment making changes to the Rental Dwelling Unit Inspection Program.  It is intended to maintain and improve the quality of life of Oakley residents residing both in and around rental property.  This is accomplished by ensuring rental properties are properly maintained and situations that may bring blight upon a neighborhood are prevented.

A letter was sent to all property owners who may be subject to this requirement.  If you received this letter, you are required to respond and submit the Rental Verification Affidavit Registration Form.    If a payment is required then it must be received by January 31st of the calendar year.

This program is mandatory and there will be penalties for non-compliance.

Under the Rental Inspection Program, each home will be inspected on an annual basis.  To assist you in meeting required standards, a Self-Inspection Checklist is available.
